Stocking Stuffers Under $25 (for Coffee and Tea People)
Stocking stuffers are the hardest gifts to pick. They have to be small enough to fit in a stocking, cheap enough that you're not overthinking the per-person budget, and useful enough that they don't feel like filler.
This is the gift guide for the coffee and tea person on your list, focused on the small things. Everything here is under $25. Most are under $15. None of them are decorative.
For coffee people
A 2oz bag of single origin — $7-10
Most of our single origins come in 2oz sample sizes. That's enough for 3-4 cups. It's the perfect "I want to introduce you to a new coffee" size.
Options:
- Our Colombia 2oz — washed, balanced
- Our Costa Rica 2oz — bright, citrusy
- Our Whiskey Barrel Aged 2oz — special occasion
A 2oz bag fits in a stocking. It pairs well with a coffee brewer (V60, French press) as a small add-on gift.
A hand coffee grinder — $15-25
If the coffee person doesn't already have a grinder, a small hand grinder is a stocking-sized upgrade. We like the Timemore C2 (~$60) for serious grinders, but the budget options are $15-25 and work fine for drip and pour-over.
Brands to consider: Hario Skerton (~$35), 1Zpresso Q2 (~$90 — over budget but worth mentioning), JavaPresse (~$25).
If you're on a budget, the JavaPresse is the safest pick. It works, it lasts a year or two of regular use, and it's small enough to fit in a stocking.
A bag of our house decaf alternative — $18-19
If the coffee person drinks decaf, a bag of our Hibiscus Berry Tea is a great evening alternative — naturally caffeine-free, berry-forward, and a good bridge between coffee and tea drinkers. Wait, that's the tea guide.
For decaf coffee drinkers, we'd actually recommend you pick a different roaster who specializes in decaf (we don't currently stock it). Swiss Water Process or CO2 process decaf is the way to go. Look for a roaster like Sweet Bloom or Onyx who does decaf well.
Coffee-scented candle — $12-20
Not a great coffee, but a coffee-scented candle is a stocking-stuffer-sized nod to the coffee obsession. Look for candles that smell like roasted coffee (not vanilla latte or caramel macchiato). Some good options: the Kobo candle "Coffee House" ($14), the Brooklyn Candle Studio "Espresso" ($18).
If they already have a coffee candle, skip.
A coffee scoop — $8-15
If they don't already have a proper coffee scoop, a small one is a stocking-sized upgrade. Most coffee scoops are 10-15g, which is the standard dose. We like the Hario measuring spoon (~$8) or the Acaia Pearl scale scoop (~$12, more precise).
If they have a burr grinder, they probably already have a scoop. If they don't, this is a useful gift.
A travel mug — $15-25
This is borderline. Most coffee people have mug preferences. But if you know the coffee person commutes with coffee and uses a subpar travel mug, a Welly or Hydro Flask is a useful upgrade. Both keep coffee hot for 4-6 hours.
If you don't know what they have, skip — mug gifts can feel impersonal.
For tea people
A small bag of matcha — $15-25
Our Matcha 1oz bag is around $24.99. That's a single cup-sized amount per session if they drink it daily, or a few weeks of occasional matcha if they don't.
If the tea person is matcha-curious, this is the entry point. We also recommend pairing it with a small bamboo whisk (~$10-15) for the full matcha ritual.
A tea infuser — $8-15
If the tea person doesn't have a proper infuser, a small mesh ball or a silicone infuser is a stocking-sized upgrade. We like the Norpro mesh ball (~$5) for simplicity, or the Forlife bamboo infuser (~$15) for aesthetics.
If they already have a teapot with a built-in strainer, skip.
A small bag of our Hibiscus Berry Tea — $18.99
The 1oz size works as a stocking-sized gift for tea drinkers. Brews hot or iced, caffeine-free, fruit-forward. A few weeks of daily evening tea.
If the tea person drinks caffeine-free in the evening, this is the safe pick.
A small bag of our Jasmine — $19.99
If they drink green tea, a small bag of our jasmine blend is a stocking-sized upgrade from plain sencha.
A tea towel — $10-15
If the tea person is into the aesthetic, a nice linen tea towel is a stocking-sized gift. We like the ones from Letterpress Farm or similar small-batch makers on Etsy.
This is borderline — depends on whether they're into the visual side of tea.
Combos that fit in a stocking
A few multi-item combos:
- Coffee combo: 2oz bag of single origin ($7-10) + coffee scoop ($8-12) = $15-22 total
- Tea combo: 1oz bag of matcha ($24.99) + bamboo whisk ($10-15) = $34-39 — slightly over but works as a small gift bag
- Coffee + tea combo: 2oz bag of our Colombia ($7-10) + 1oz bag of our Hibiscus Berry Tea ($10-12) = $17-22 total
What we're skipping (and why)
A few common stocking-stuffer picks we left off:
Chocolate. Most tea people already have chocolate preferences, and coffee-chocolate pairings are either too generic or too specific.
Mug accessories (coasters, koozies, etc.). Usually filler.
Holiday-flavored coffee or tea. Peppermint mocha, gingerbread latte, etc. Most specialty people don't drink these.
Decorative items. Ornaments, mugs with sayings on them, etc. Most coffee and tea people prefer functional gifts.
A note on shipping
